First Aid at Work Level 3
Overview
The First Aid at Work (FAW) course is a comprehensive, HSE‑aligned Level 3 qualification designed to give learners the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively to a wide range of workplace emergencies. Delivered over three days, this course provides the practical skills required to act as a fully qualified workplace first aider.
What the Course Covers
- Assessing an incident — ensuring safety and prioritising casualties
- CPR and AED use
- Unresponsive casualties — including recovery position
- Severe bleeding and shock — managing life‑threatening injuries
- Fractures, sprains and spinal injuries
- Major medical conditions — heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy
- Burns, poisoning and minor injuries
- Accident reporting and workplace responsibilities
Learners are assessed through practical demonstrations and short written elements to ensure competence and confidence.
The FAW qualification is ideal for:
- High‑risk workplaces such as construction, manufacturing, engineering, warehousing and logistics
- Businesses that require a fully trained first aider on site
- Managers, supervisors and employees responsible for workplace safety
- Anyone wanting a comprehensive, nationally recognised first aid qualification
This course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, making it suitable for employers who must demonstrate compliance.
Successful delegates are awarded a three year First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate which is accredited by NUCO (an Ofqual recognised Awarding Organisation). All certificates and materials are included in the course fee.
